About Shade of the Tree
Shade of the Tree is a state licensed non-profit facility which was founded with one goal in mind, to provide Substance Abuse Services to those who need them. Shade of the Tree's singleness of purpose is to provide quality care to those in need of Substance Abuse Treatment. It is Shade of the Tree's understanding that Substance Abuse affects the whole person in a debilitating manner, and those close to the person including the family. With this in mind, no one will ever be denied treatment at Shade of the Tree for financial reasons.
Shade of the Tree's Founder, Daniel Gigstad, has dedicated the last twenty years of his life in the pursuit of forming Shade of the Tree. Daniel recieved his Bachelors degree from The University of St. Thomas in St. Pual, MN while graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Psychology and Theology. In 2008 Daniel graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Masters Degree in Psychology. He is currently certified in the State of Iowa as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC). He has experience working in both outpatient and residential facilities. On July 28, 2020 Daniel Celebrated 23 years of Recovery from Drugs and Alcohol.
